List of gun shops still in business
List of gun shops still in business
Maybe I missed it but I didn’t see an obvious list of gun shops that are still in business. I know there’s a whole section of the forum dedicated to shops, but it’s deader than Jeffrey Epstein. Back when I had less time on my hands I would schedule a day to go to Louisville and I had a circuit all mapped out to efficiently visit all the gun stores. Sadly, at least half all the places on that list are now closed. I thought it might be useful to keep an updated list of the gun stores we still patronize. If this list already exists can someone please let me know?
I’ll start with the ones I know are still open because I’ve been in them within the last year or so. I’m leaving out the big box stores like Cabela’s. Feel free to add to the list.
Bardstown:
Kentucky Gun Co.

Yes- Middletown, behind the Walmart. They actually have a pretty good selection on hand.

Well if you are including Gun and Pawn, then you have to put in all the Dans Discount places.
Louisville, Frankfort, Lexington, Somerset and wherever else they are.
Here in Lawrenceburg we now have
Auto Max (place on US 127 that sells cars but started selling guns about 8 years ago or so, been in there once and they had quite a few, I just couldn't afford them)
Lawrenceburg Gun and Pawn (Been there a few years, kind of took the place of DJ's Gun and Pawn since Darrell the owner retired a few years ago)-- Never can catch it open when I think about going.

When I think about gun shops I don’t really think of new gun retailers like Sportsman’s Warehouse, Rural King or Walmart. I guess that’s because you can’t trade or buy used guns there.
