Re: The Rimfire Rifle Pic Thread
Ruger gave me a return authorization, UPS will pick it up Friday. I just read about another one, in 22 magnum, with the same problem on Rimfire Central.
I'm going to add my complaint on the rough action in the note I send with it.
What a shame.

Hopefully Ruger will make it right.kokopelli wrote:I took a road trip down to Whittaker's yesterday, with a pit stop to meet JustShootIt and sell my Savage FV-SR.
Since I had gun-money burning a hole in my pocket now, and I was short a bolt action .22, I got a Ruger American Rimfire. It uses 10/22 mags, so I figured why not.
Turns out to be a mistake. Check out the scope base: (this model came with the base mounted, and has no iron sights)
note: the bipod is not crooked, and I installed it just to take the pictures.

Re: The Rimfire Rifle Pic Thread
Thank you.
Most of the internals are stock. I had the trigger pull lightened and all the guts polished.
Kidd fluted heavy threaded barrel
Extended mag release
3x9 Nikon pro staff scope
Harris bipod
Pilot II can
I can't for the life of me remember what the aftermarket stock is.

It's very addicting! I started with one for target shooting / trainer and boom I converted my 17MACH2 to a light weight .22.
A lot of fun and all of the parts are interchangeable.

Thank you very much. I like it a lot. It's crazy just how quiet it is with subsonic ammunition. I was worried that it wouldn't meet my expectations since it's not higher priced.

Re: The Rimfire Rifle Pic Thread
I missed a call from a rep today, and I called him back. They were not able 'duplicate' the problem I was seeing because, as he said, the tech put in a set of taps and they looked ok.
I asked him to have a scope mounted, and the crosshairs will be obviously tilted to the right. He said he would pass that on, and also would try a different scope base, as maybe that one was bad. He said the were extruded and supplied to Ruger by someone else.
About minutes later I got a phone call from a supervisor who said they were replacing the rifle. I asked if it would be the same model, since it was a dist exclusive, she said yes, 'they would make one'.

Re: The Rimfire Rifle Pic Thread
That's fantastic. I remember when they first released the LCR, American Rifleman had a look inside Ruger. Your experience just confirms what I saw from that.
