From Glock website:
Can I use lead bullets?
No, we recommend the use of jacketed ammunition only.

When it finally comes out can we go ahead and bury this guy?
There are criminals among us who are both homicidal and incorrigible. Their parents took a shot at civilizing them and failed. Their school teachers took a shot at them and failed. The odds are overwhelming that government welfare programs and penal institutions took a shot at them and failed. If it ever becomes your turn to take a shot at them, don’t fail.

Re: It's coming!!! Single stack 9mm
I was thinking about getting myself a compact Glock a while ago, thought the G36 would be a good backup type gun. Most of my pistols are .45 acp and I wanted something in the same. After thinking about it, I decided that the G36 proprietary mags weren't what I wanted, as I have a G21. For me, the G30 is a better choice as a backup, as I can use my regular mags if needed. I feel the same way if I were shopping for a primary/secondary pistol combo in 9mm.
I also question the value of going with a single stack for its reduced capacity when the available double stack/higher capacity equivalent is only marginally bigger and heavier.
I understand that people are looking for lighter/slimmer but is the trade off worth it?
I also understand the irony of the fact that this question is coming from a die hard single stack lo-cap 1911 fanboy (me). But I'm not trashing any Glock here. I love my 21.

This won't replace my g26 for the reasons MK mentioned, but I'd love for it to replace the lcp's and the like of those near and dear to me.

Re: It's coming!!! Single stack 9mm
I LOVED my 36, and it was the most accurate sub compact out of the box I've ever shot. Same as MK, I couldn't get past the mags. They were as thick as their double stack 9's mags are...and only held 6 rounds. 'Carry an extra mag'? not so easy when they're so darn thick...you can't just drop on in your pocket. It looks like you're smuggling a Milky Way candybar in your pants!
If Glock would ditch the heavy/thick plastic wrapped mag, and do a simple metal single stack, they would have a winner.
I still can't understand why no modern designed pistol can simply make a single stack mag as thin as the 1911 series mags...I assume they are forcing the mag to fit in the grip of the gun, but it looks like they could 'close in' the grip/magwell area so a single stack mag could be thinner.

Re: It's coming!!! Single stack 9mm
Yeah I am likely not buying one but if I felt like I couldn't carry full size guns or I had to occasionally carry a very small pistol it would be this one. I have 26&27 but don't usually carry them and usually grab the 19 daily.Marcus wrote:This won't replace my g26 for the reasons MK mentioned, but I'd love for it to replace the lcp's and the like of those near and dear to me.

Re: It's coming!!! Single stack 9mm
I had only looked at it from the perspective of having compatibility with the full size pistol (capacity with shared mags). If it was to be THE pistol I was carrying, I might look at it differently especially if size was a real issue.
Re: It's coming!!! Single stack 9mm
Glock is calling it a "backup gun" and not to replace the 19 or 26 as a defensive carry gun with the 43.

I imagine it would serve well in that role.

Re: It's coming!!! Single stack 9mm
Of course they are. They don't want you to pick which one you buy, they want you to buy them all. A 9mm from a 3 1/2 in barrel will harm you just like a 3in barrel will generally speaking.Bama wrote:Glock is calling it a "backup gun" and not to replace the 19 or 26 as a defensive carry gun with the 43.

On the Facebook page it looks like the 43 is made in Austria with the stupid serrated trigger. I was kinda hoping it would be a us built gun like the 42
