Not really a 1911, but still pretty cool. First .45 model , 1905. Fire blued small parts, been looking for one of these for a long while.

Not familiar with the Springfields other than the bottom of the barrel lineup. Is that a Loaded? Looks good.

Re: 1911 Picture Thread
Got this POS Norinco a while ago, was digging in the safe and remembered it. Need to start working on it.
Terrible sights, need to change them.
If you haven't handled a new Chinese firearm or ammo, they stink. Probably laced with anthrax or something. Oh well, gotta go sometime.

Re: 1911 Picture Thread
The Norinco had a really good reputation as a great platform for a custom build. If I remember correctly it had to do with the steel taking very well to tightening the slide to frame fit. Just did a little more google fu and came up that Wilson Combat used Norinco slides and frames for all out custom builds years ago before they started in house production.

Re: 1911 Picture Thread
Yeah I know a lot of people say they are a good basis for a build. Still don't really like em though, but I always seem to have one or two laying around.

Re: 1911 Picture Thread
I said I wasn't going to buy another 1911 when I got my Dan Wesson. I REALLY want to buy more 1911's now...haha I would like to have a nice old Colt, a Springfield and the new M45A1 or whatever it is that the Marines recently started using. 1911's are hands down my favorite pistol to shoot! They fit my hand like a glove and feel like JMB personally asked my opinion and used my hand to design the gun around...haha

Re: 1911 Picture Thread
Thanks. It feels pretty good. The couple internal pieces lightened up the trigger. It feels smooth and right at 4.1 pounds while retaining the stock trigger and hammer. The more I look at it I want to go ahead and add a new trigger and hammer. Only problem is that I want a trigger the has the ears on the back of the finger part to adjust the play and slop. I didn't see that WC made them.Coach wrote:1fastmach1 wrote:An updated photo of my rig. Wilson combat sear, disconnect and sear spring. New grips. Nice an simple.
