if you are active or reserve military you are free. All women are free, under 21 is free, elected officials are free. If you do not fit into these categories then the cost is $70 for the entire weekend plus range fee, some have it some don't. KCR is $10 I believe.
Also I tend to give slots away to the shoots I run, I'm there teaching why not have a full line. Instructors are all volunteers and get paid nothing for doing it. You will not find a better rifle marksmanship course at 4 times the cost. I don't care what your experience level is.

There is a shoot at KCR this weekend, come on out.

Well worth your time. I have chatted with folks who told me they THOUGHT they were pretty good shots with a rifle until they went to an Appleseed. Heck, I thought I was. Got my Rifleman patch on my second Appleseed (labor day weekend).

You will learn some great shooting skills and you will learn some stuff about the American Revolution that you did not know.

I am interested in this. Harrodsburg would be the closest for me, but I have a date with UK alumni at Rupp Arena already planned. Is there a possibility of any later this year?

This weekend is the first shoot at Harrodsburg ever. With the time needed to get a shoot on the schedule I doubt there will be another on the schedule this year.
Get some friends or family and go to a shoot, camp, make a weekend out of it. You will not regret it.

Sorry I have not been on here in a while. Glad Mudcat has been taking up the slack. The shoot in Harrodsburg is full and there will not be another there this year. Hopefully next year we will have multiple shoots there.

We have had something like 15 events in Kentucky already this year, but here is the remaining schedule:

Cave City still has lots of room.

There will also be one in Crittenden at Lloyd WMA on the weekend after Thanksgiving, but it is not listed on the schedule.

Reminder to all that Knob Creek is in about two weeks so get signed up.

Last shoot of the year is scheduled for Crittenden on Thanksgiving weekend. It will be a special 3-day event where we will be engaging KD steel targets out to 300 meters Saturday and Sunday afternoon. This would be a great excuse for getting out of the dreaded Black Friday shopping orgy.

Also, I am working on some exciting new things for 2013, including an indoor shoot in January in Lexington, and some KD shoots for the big-boy rifle shooters.

Finally, a heads-up that there will be a price increase coming on January 1, 2012.

Effective 1/1/13, the new fee schedule will be:

Adult males: $80 two days, $50 one day
Adult females: $40 two days, $20 one day
Youth less than 18 years old: $20 two days, $10 one day OR one free youth per paying adult, male or female
LEO, active or reserve military, etc., remain free (and ROC holders until they expire)

Some fine print:
Three day shoots are $95/$60/$30 male/female/paid youth
Boot camps: Women are now charged $100 for RBCs, the same as youth.
No pre-registration discounts.
Cancellations or transfers up to a week in advance, $10 fee.

Last chance to get in on the old fee schedule is this coming Thanksgiving weekend at Crittenden. http://appleseedinfo.org/smf/index.php?topic=31967. There are still a few openings.

Still a great deal.
Indeed. Truer words have never been spoken.

Now, here is a little write-up done by a recent Appleseed attendee in Ohio:
http://www.buckeyefirearms.org/node/8615

So get this; first, the guy's a Buckeye (strike one ;) ), he's 69 years old, "beat-up, broken and bolted back together", with arthritis, and he spends two days in the rain in 45 degree temps trying to shoot a Rifleman score on our modified Army Qualification Test. He finally succeeds with a score of 241 out of 250. Folks, with citizens like this, there is hope for our country.

Now Kentuckians, what is YOUR excuse for not attending an Appleseed clinic? Still some spaces left for this weekend: http://appleseedinfo.org/smf/index.php?topic=31967.
