Re: Pocket Carry advice for restaurant owner
I would never pocket carry a primary pistol, a backup gun yes. A S&W J frame 5 shot revolver is super easy to conceal appendix carry, when you get used to that, the 10 or 12 rnds from a G26 is almost just as easy to conceal the same way. Putting your hand in a pocket upon being confronted by a robber can get you killed, unless you can draw from a pocket and put a shot on target within roughly one second, I don't know anyone who can. Do yourself a favor and get a iwb holster and a g26 and shot timer and practice till you can. Even then if you become someones target as a biz owner, you will still be at the disadvantage. That's my standard advice on pocket carry, take it or leave it, and congrats on taking responsibility for your own safety.

If Netto is talking to you, you're safe. It's when Netto isn't talking to you that you should start worrying.

So do you consider him talking to be safe when he's whispering to you from your closet?Whootsinator wrote:If Netto is talking to you, you're safe. It's when Netto isn't talking to you that you should start worrying.

Re: Pocket Carry advice for restaurant owner
Sorry for the late reply. I really appreciate all the advice. I think I'm going to go with the Ruger LCP and the Desantis Nemesis pocket holster in the summer time when I'll be in jeans and a tucked in polo. In the winter time I'll be able to keep a light pullover on so I'm thinking about going with something a little bigger with a IWB holster. I was thinking about going with a Glock 26 but have started to consider the Glock 30S. What are your alls thoughts on that?
Thanks again for taking the time to share your advice!

Re: Pocket Carry advice for restaurant owner
I'm a big .45acp fan, but I still think out of those 2 options I would go with the 26. For the extra rounds without the extra weight.
Re: Pocket Carry advice for restaurant owner
I was looking on Bud's and it looks like they're pretty similar. Both hold 10+1. The 26 weights 19.75 oz and the 30S weights 20.2 oz. I guess loaded the .45 rounds may be heavier.Niceguy wrote:I'm a big .45acp fan, but I still think out of those 2 options I would go with the 26. For the extra rounds without the extra weight.
Here's what they have for the 26: http://www.budsgunshop.com/catalog/prod ... mm+3.42%22
And here's what they have for the 30S: http://www.budsgunshop.com/catalog/prod ... CP+3.77%22
Re: Pocket Carry advice for restaurant owner
That's a good point. Looks like a loaded 30S is about 4 oz heavier than a loaded 26, according to Glock's website. I'm sure every little bit makes a difference, especially when I'll be on my feet 10 hours a day.

Check out the S&W Bodyguard 380 and compare it to the LCP before you buy. My pocket carry of choice, in your chioce of pocket holster.

Watch ballistics tests in gel on YouTube for various calibers before you make a choice. You will be surprised at poorly some of the popular calibers do.
