Cant or no cant??

Post by Smithengineered » Thu Feb 27, 2014 8:00 pm

Looking at buying my first OWB holster from Armordillo Concealment. I will be carrying at the 3'o clock position. Before I spend the $75 I had one question. They offer either 0 cant or 10 degree cant. I will want to conceal as much as possible and am worried about if carrying at the 0 position the butt of the gun would be more visible. What is everyone's preference?

this. Are you going to carry the gun more than you shoot it? If so canted might be better for you.

At the 3 o clock you're going to want 0 cant.
If you carry more of a 4 o clock position go with the cant.

This will make drawing easier.
Remember, you dress around the gun, not gun around the dress.

Would 10 degrees be a big difference between 3'0 clock and 4?

Yes, it puts an unnatural bend in your wrist that slows the draw.
You can train to circumvent most of it but why make it harder on yourself?
In a gunfight, milliseconds are the difference between explaining to the LEOs and being bagged up.

An easy way to see what I'm saying is to place your hand on your hip at the 3 o clock position.
Now move it back to 4 o clock.
Now move your hand back to the 3 o clock position without changing the angle of your hand.
