My perspective:
Unaccredited institution that promotes ignorance in the name of "Christianity" vs. kid who doesn't have the common sense to step away when the Klan shows up.
They're both free to do as they wish, and I'm free to not give one damn.

Re: Happy 4th of July
Since we're being pedantic, there is no such thing as "Independance Day."kokopelli wrote:Happy Independance Day.
The fourth of July is the date, not the holiday. You don't tell people 'Merry 25th of December'!
Because there is no "a" in "independence."
In any case, Happy July 5th!

Does anyone here even shoot competitions? I'm one of those weird guys who shoots outlaw matches with his carry gear. Besides being practical, it provides a built-in excuse. It's easier to explain missing a 25 yard mini popper when you're using a Glock 26. This would be a heckuva fun gun for someone...

Hammer-fired guns have advantages over their striker-fired counterparts. Every striker-fired gun's trigger sucks--some worse than others, but they all feel like a Nerf gun to some degree. It's inherent in the design. I don't have a particular interest in these, as I have too much time and money tied...

I picked up a Ruger GSR a few years ago. I keep intending to mount a micro red dot on it, but it shoots so well that irons that I haven't bothered yet.
If I were limited to one centerfire rifle for everything I'd probably pick this one.

Aimpoint has their Nano, built specifically for B&T's Universal Service Weapon. I think they'll eventually take the tech from their Nano and put it in a new wrapper for pistol slide mounting. I'm something of an Aimpoint fanboy, so I hope this is true...but I'm not holding my breath. Legendary dura...

Move to the country......less people = less stupidity. Very little stupidity where I live. If my nearest neighbor hears shooting from my place at night, she'll bring me brownies, because she knows I'm killing the raccoons that terrorize her garden. But y'all just keep on enjoying all that "culture"...

Not a Muslim cleric or priest but whatever. As but one example, Qadir Ahmad Chohan is the chairman of the Manchester Council of Mosques, an organization that is a coalition consisting of the leaders of over 50 mosques. He is a Muslim cleric, and some careful Googling will find multiple statements (...

And by quoting the above I am by no means saying that acts of terror perpetrated by Islamic extremists are not a very real and very serious problem that must be dealt with. But painting with a broad brush puts us in the same camp as those who blame police for dead black youths, the NRA for school sh...

Re: Army Chooses Sig Sauer as Army's New Pistol
I call it here folks, the M9 will be missed just like the 1911. I'm sure some will, but I certainly don't miss lugging around an obese pistol with a slide-mounted safety that switches itself off and on in the holster. I never had one malfunction on me, and while that's a very good thing, it's the o...

First thing I'd do is load a mag with one round. If the bolt locks open after firing, the gas system and buffer are probably fine.

I strongly agree with those who recommended the P226/P6 option.
