Re: Stupid Stuff

Oh and by the way At Benghazi something did happen and the state dept lead by HRC fucked up. This whole Russian conclusion thing is a big fat nothing burger. Just blame it all on a video if it makes you happy. Whoa. Slow your roll there, Ghost Rider. This ain’t about me. Something happened with Rus...

Re: LEAKED! The New Tavor TS12 Bullpup Shotgun From IWI

I really like bullpup rifles, but I haven’t found a shotgun that trips my trigger...yet.

This might just do it. 8 pounds loaded up with 25 rounds, and it takes choke tubes? I might have to give it a try.

Re: 11.5” non-NFA AR with a stock

There's another theory involving barrel length and some receiver differences. If you permanently attached the barrel to the receiver, effectively making the receiver part of the barrel, an 11.5" barrel plus the length of the permanently attached receiver would be over 16" I don’t think that would f...

Re: 11.5” non-NFA AR with a stock

After re-reading the applicable definitions, there are only two workarounds that occur to me:

- the barrel isn’t rifled, *or*

- they played the semantics game and successfully argued that this thing was “made from a rifle” but has a length of over 26 inches.

Re: New From SIG SAUER: P365 Micro-Compact Pistol

I’m a big fan of the Glock 26, but its one major fault (IMHO) is its too-wide slide. This *could* be an answer to that problem, but I’d have to shoot it to be sure. My biggest complaint with Shields, Glock 43s, and even PPSs is they don’t shoot like a full-size gun. If this gun manages to combine th...

Are 148gr Wadcutters easy to find? I don't recall ever seeing them, but Ive never looked either. “Easy” is a relative term. They’re not *nearly* as common (nor as cheap) as they were a few decades ago, but they’re out there: http://www.sgammo.com/product/38-special-ammo/50-round-box-38-special-148-...

Re: WTB: Ceremony drill M1903 Springfield rifle

I can answer this question definitively.

The current official Army JROTC drill rifle is the replica made by Daisy.

With that said, some exhibition drill teams *may* use other models. If you would like to ensure you get the exact rifle his unit uses send me a PM and I can find out for you.

Re: Anyone have any experience with Just Right Carbines?

I’ve owned one for several years. Pros: uses Glock mags; extremely reliable; accurate. Cons: ugly as homemade sin; PITA to disassemble. I bought mine because it was extremely cheap (20% off with no sales tax), and it has given me zero issues. With that said, I’d rather have a CZ Scorpion or an MPX.

Re: Army Chooses Sig Sauer as Army's New Pistol

It's obvious that $ rules over quality and our service men and womens lives. They could issue water pistols, and it wouldn’t make an appreciable difference. I carried an Army-issued pistol for 20 odd years, and my considered opinion is that their primary purpose for 99% of those who carry them is t...

I would have bet it was an out-of-battery discharge, which aren't terribly uncommon with rimfire ammo, but that solid firing pin imprint has me scratching my head.

Re: Serial number question

I'd match the serial numbers up if I were selling the gun.

Not that it's a big deal; I've swapped out slides and frames myself, but if I were buying such a gun from someone it might make me wonder what sort of shade tree "gunsmithing" they might have done that isn't apparent visually.
