I tend to over engineer things when I do projects, but it seems solid enough fro a child say under 80lbs.

I tried to get a good photo for a size comparison and could not get a good shot. So the next thing I thought of was to trace it. Here is the size comparison, PF9 difference is in yellow. Width is .07 or 1/16 inches different. Not a very large difference, I think the Shield 9 will carry just as well....
