Re: Gun books and gunsmith library

A couple of the reviews for it seem to mention this same problem.

I would love to do that one day. Unfortunately just getting over there is very expensive.

Didn't realize I had put this much on in the past year. Glad this challenge came up now.

Re: Refinishing the wood on an AK

I ordered some linseed oil to try and redo the wood on my AK. Will post pictures of before and after once I get it wrapped up. Going to try to bring out a natural grain. Will it work? I don't have a clue.

Re: What people will do on a plane. Warning, Gross

I grew up traveling alot because my parents worked as expats. The things you see on planes as a kid that you don't realize are odd, but then remember as an adult is amazing. Granted alot of that was 18ish years ago. Things now are much better than they used to be regarding air travel. At least from ...

Re: **** KAC Official July 14th shoot ****

Looks like I may not be going to Forecastle after all. Kinda pricey and I'm not sure I want to be there for three straight days.

If I end up selling the tickets I'm really hoping to make it out to the shoot. Sounds like an excellent way to spend a day.

Re: First AR Build

The budget isn't really set in stone. Really I have been gathering parts for the past five months when I find good deals. So I am just looking to get a list of brands to keep an eye on. My receiver is PSA, trigger assembly is DPMS, buttstock is Blackhawk, and the buffer tube is Advanced Tech. A mish...

First AR Build

I have finally gotten everything purchased for my first ever AR build. Everything except the upper and accessories. Looking to do a 20" this time since the AK should handle shorter distance rifle work.

Any suggestions on good value for your money uppers?

Re: Eotech Clone

The clones I'm looking at are in the $80 range so its a much bigger gap to step up to the full on Eotech. For now it would just be going on my AK as well. The AR won't be finished until I save up enough to get the upper.

Re: Survival

I used to do some wilderness survival weekends back in my boy scout days. It was great fun, though we did take food with us. Really all you need for the minimalist stuff is a decent knife, I prefer my Ka-bar, flint for fire starting, and something to purify water. The flint is something I always tak...

Eotech Clone

I'm interested in getting an Aimpoint or Eotech style sight in the near future, but they are pretty expensive. Since I don't need the nightvision capabilities of the Eotech would a clone be a decent option? Here are some links to a couple I am considering. http://www.amazon.com/Green-Illumination-Si...

Well my Forecastle tickets showed up today and it looks like I won't be able to make the shoot. While I'm excited for the music I'm sad about not getting out to a proper outdoor shoot. Maybe next time.

Re: Republicans Have Bad Brains?

Science in general has been under attack in this country for years, and it is rediculous. Any time that there is evidence of something we aren't comfortable with or challenges a long established view people freak out and ignore it. The planet is getting warmer, there is proof of that. The question i...

Re: Only 5 years probation?

This is really dissapointing from the perspective of a citizen who used to think the justice system was fair. (Granted that was shattered in my early teens when I started thinking a bit for myself.) It just makes NO SENSE AT ALL.

Gotta be that this guy had some favors to call in on this.

I'll start checking on those places. Looks like craigslist may have a few decent ones occasionally as well.
