Lathe Quality

A friend of mine is looking to tinker around making mods for his Beretta and 1911, and is looking at lathes. He would just be making small parts from stainless, cold rolled, and tool steel and threading on pistol barrels for barrel bushings. He is looking at the following one, and thought that some ...

Re: Backpack suggestions

Okay, since no one has mentioned GoRuck, I am now. Their rucks are the shit, so I think their "lesser" backpacks would be equally awesome. No MOLLE though. ;)

Check the Shadow Ruck series.... that is actually affordable compared to their rucks.

I joined the Glock club...

Gen 4 G17 seems to fix the handling problems I had with Glocks in the past. This fits my tiny girl hands very well. Now I just need to learn how to shoot this thing... the trigger feels different. I'm hoping that I can make the changes to my trigger control that the RWI instructors suggested. The Gl...

Re: Gunsmithing schools in Kentucky?

The coolest thing I've seen is a four day class by Cylinder and Slide Schedule: http://www.cylinder-slide.com/index.php?app=ccp0&ns=display&ref=classes Basically, for the cost of high-end 1911, you build one for yourself under the guidance of one of the greatest 1911 smiths around. The PDF I first p...

I'd even say 9 or 45 could fall in that category if it was a hollowpoint or frangible round. Lucky bastard though... I wouldn't want to try it again. :)

I don't have one yet. I don't really have the disposable income right now to make up the difference to buy a replacement, so it's straight up trade only right now.

Re: WTT Feeler - HK USP Compact 45 Stainless

Sorry, I'm an idiot. What I meant is that I have a USP Compact 45 in stainless w/ GGG rail(bottom right): https://lh4.googleusercontent.com/-AV0hg8NiPEA/USmrX-3Hh_I/AAAAAAAABYw/bL8499UBEes/s800/IMG825.jpg I would like to trade it for one of the new full size "round" HKs. Like the P30 or the HK45. ht...

WTT Feeler - HK USP Compact 45 Stainless

Since I have been carrying my Shield religiously, I've been looking around for something with more capacity as my home defense gun. Being an HK snob, I still want an HK in my stable, so I was wondering if they've held their "value" enough to go even trade with some of HK's newer offerings with their...

Re: Tampa Officers in Shooting - Bad Guy DRT - Video

The shield IS a useful tool, though not everyone likes them. In this instance having the shield in the cabin and at the ready very probably saved the life of the officer in the passenger seat. This was either quick thinking or good training. If you can't see, he's actually behind the shield while i...
