Re: Drone hobbyists
All right about 395’ at “Riverside at Farnsley-Moorman” except the last one. That was taken at a little swamp that I think might be the reason for my mosquito problem around my house.

Re: Drone hobbyists
Well that was the shortest hobby I've ever had!
Got it set up in the backyard and it took off towards Ft Knox like a scalded dog, never to be seen again!!!
DAMMIT!!

Thanks.
I should've made a tether for it I reckon until I knew I could control it.
Lessons learned!

Re: Drone hobbyists
I couldn't believe it! It just acted like it decided to go home and shagged ass that way.
It had nothing to do with the fact that I was past a 6 pack when I tried it!

Don’t drink and drone! That’s how I didn’t realize my rth was lower than a tree and now I have all these scratches.

Put that sucker on a leash while you get used to it. LOLLivewire wrote: ↑Wed Jun 09, 2021 3:18 pmThis is not encouraging news while I’m waiting for mine to be delivered.plumber_bob wrote: ↑Wed Jun 09, 2021 9:06 amThanks.

I'm sorry but I LOL'd thinking that some grunt at Knox has a special drone hack that steers them all his way.
That really sucks!
I'd recommend a DJI if you decide to try again. They have the best control set up.

Re: Drone hobbyists
DJI has a RTH (Return to Home) button on their controllers. It will literally land within inches of its original take-off spot.

Re: Drone hobbyists
Exactly!
I lock mine up when the alcohol flows.
I think the highest trees in Kentucky are just under 170'. I keep my RTH at 275' just in case there is a freak of nature tree around.
Did have it at 350', which is really cool to watch the vids of going up and landing from that high.

Re: Drone hobbyists
I went with the cheapest one,... it cost me a mere $81 to learn that, that was not a good idea!
