Lol if were entirely up to me i would simply let mother nature run its course and i would eagerly watch for them to hatch. Ill see what the wife thinks and we will go from there.

The last part of your point is precisely where the trouble begins...Rem700 wrote:Lol if were entirely up to me i would simply let mother nature run its course and i would eagerly watch for them to hatch. Ill see what the wife thinks and we will go from there.

I was considering the same. Go for it, Mike.Mike wrote:I'd like to come dig them up if at all possible. I will incubate the eggs and hatch them out then release them in a specific pond out here.

Make them do it.

Re: Snapping Turtle Nesting
There was a big ass nest laid Thursday night by a sea turtle at our beach house.
12 eggs laid. They had to come reloacate them because they were not far enough into the dunes and we had a king tide last night.
The path left in the sand was largest I have seen. Must have been a big old turtle.

Yeah, they mark them so they can make turtle omelets when the gringos aren't watching.

Re: Snapping Turtle Nesting
About three months, depending on temperature. Temperature also determines ratio of males to females.Lamkin wrote:That's cool, how long do they take to hatch?
