Too much hair on his head to be Jack.
Looking again, that loaded chamber indicator couldn't work with the XM17 we're seeing right now because it would be right under the RDS cover plate.

According to this, if the price mentioned is true, it's cheaper to buy the new M17s than it is to continue to refurbish ragged out M9s.

There are criminals among us who are both homicidal and incorrigible. Their parents took a shot at civilizing them and failed. Their school teachers took a shot at them and failed. The odds are overwhelming that government welfare programs and penal institutions took a shot at them and failed. If it ever becomes your turn to take a shot at them, don’t fail.

Re: Army Chooses Sig Sauer as Army's New Pistol
I have my brand new (made in Jan. of this year) P320 in hand, and if God wills, I'll be testing it tomorrow. It came with 2 17 rd, and I have aquired 3 21 rd mags that all need testing.
This is a striker fired weapon, as I'm sure you are aware, but the trigger on this thing really freaks me out. The pull is short and smooth and the reset is incredibly short, but positive. As far as I'm concerned, SIG has really hit it out of the park with this one.
Crush, kill, mangle, maim, destroy.

The Sig 320 RX is very close... close enough that you'd be better off getting that, than waiting for a probable-but-far-off civilian release.

Re: Army Chooses Sig Sauer as Army's New Pistol
Already have mine.
ETA: I bought the large grip full sized frame from Midway and swapped it out for the medium grip it came with. Looking at them side by side the difference is not huge, but the way it fits in my hand is much nicer with the large grip. Looks cool with a black slide and Desert Tan frame, too.

What is this 320 RX you speak of. Is it different from the current full size 320? I've been looking at the 320 carry.

RX comes with the Romeo 1 red dot on it, and it is part of the guns lifetime warranty.bigelowe wrote:Whootsinator wrote:The Sig 320 RX is very close... close enough that you'd be better off getting that, than waiting for a probable-but-far-off civilian release.

Full size

and Compact

These look to be basically the new XM17 and XM18 without external safeties.

Re: Army Chooses Sig Sauer as Army's New Pistol
The P320 X-FIVE competition model uses the same combination cover-plate/rear sight that the XM17/18 use, but the XM17/18 doesn't use the very different X-FIVE frame with deeper trigger guard undercut, longer beavertail, etc.

That X-Five is SEX, wanted once since I first read about it, but the price tag will keep it out of my hands.
