I had a Tom Tom for years and then last year bought a Garmin for rental cars. I like the Garmin better. Graphics and detail is better.
Lately my Waze app has not been real accurate.

I have both newer models. Garmin is by far the better choice but only with free lifetime maps update. Tom Tom has put me on off the wall routes that take longer while Garmin puts you on the best route. Only plus for Tom Tom is the Darth Vader voice upgrade.
