Wax the shit out of them and they will stay clear much longer. Or clear them.Gunsmokin wrote:Spent a little quality time with some sanding blocks and a buffer, fixing the wife's headlights this morning.

I was looking at the spray UV clear that you have to use a light to cure or direct sunlight on a warm day. There are several options. Is the one or two that you'd recommend, Jack?jackalo626 wrote:Yeah, gotta clear them with uv protection cleaeclear.Niceguy wrote:Wax the shit out of them and they will stay clear much longer. I got a kit at walmart I think, was $25 and has use of a variable speed drill. Have done some of the cars in about 10 minutes. didn't know you had to use UV clear on them so that would be next step.

Yeah, the kits and sanding get them clean and clear but the factory uv protection is gone at this point so the uv clear will keep them looking new and not fade again until it gets worn off which should be years.Dave1965 wrote:I got a kit at walmart I think, was $25 and has use of a variable speed drill. I've been enjoying the pictures Mike. My dad is a woodworker as well. I developed an affinity for metals and never did much with that rigid carbohydrate matrix.

If you seriously want to learn some of that kind of woodworking, hit me up. If you start with a small project, it won't cost all that much and won't take a lot of time. I'm always up for chopping up big pieces of wood into smaller ones. I may not be at the same level as Mike's dad, but I can hold my own.Rem700 wrote:Very nice Mike!
