New Secretary of Defense
Re: New Secretary of Defense
and now they say PETRAEUS for Secretary of State...ugh, no ...not good decisions for this guy
On June 30, 2011, Petraeus was unanimously confirmed as the Director of the CIA by the U.S. Senate 94–0. Petraeus relinquished command of U.S. and NATO forces in Afghanistan on July 18, 2011, and retired from the U.S. Army on August 31, 2011. On November 9, 2012, General Petraeus resigned from his position as Director of the CIA, citing his extramarital affair, which was reportedly discovered in the course of an FBI investigation. In January 2015, officials reported the FBI and Justice Department prosecutors had recommended bringing felony charges against Petraeus for allegedly providing classified information to his biographer, Paula Broadwell (with whom he was having an affair), while serving as Director of the CIA. Eventually, Petraeus pleaded guilty to one misdemeanor charge of mishandling classified information.

There are criminals among us who are both homicidal and incorrigible. Their parents took a shot at civilizing them and failed. Their school teachers took a shot at them and failed. The odds are overwhelming that government welfare programs and penal institutions took a shot at them and failed. If it ever becomes your turn to take a shot at them, don’t fail.

I think everyone here is pretty stoked about the Mattis nomination. Petraeus, on the other hand, shouldn't be nominated for dog catcher. I think Toecutter just misread Dave's post about Petraeus.guncrank1 wrote:My nephew the Marine Lt. Col. is very positive about the Secertary Of Defense nominee.

Sec of defense, Sec of State, what's the difference? It not like they ever handle anything classified. Just ask Hillary

Re: New Secretary of Defense
Fuck Petraeus, 2nd amendment opponent which is what I disagree with. That specifically is my gripe, I don't care what kind of affairs he had etc but it does tarnish my trust in someone that lies to the person they committed to love and honor.

He is a strong 2A guy. When he was an ambassador to the UN he told them to shove their small arms polices up their asses.Dave1965 wrote:WLJ wrote:Reading John Bolton is being considered for Sec of State
