Re: New AK Alpha from Kashnikov USA
interesting concept, adding many ergos to the stock, but all that plastic on an AK seems very expensive and counter-intuitive to me. Anyone seen a price on this modern marvel?

Press release doesn't list an MSRP yet but they are supposed to be shipping this year. I wouldn't be surprised if they were somewhere over $1KWyldman wrote:interesting concept, adding many ergos to the stock, but all that plastic on an AK seems very expensive and counter-intuitive to me. Re: New AK Alpha from Kashnikov USA
According to TTAG they talked to the manufacturer at shot and they are aiming for it to be cheaper than I thought:
Apparently what we’re seeing here is still just an engineering prototype. A firing prototype, but a prototype nonetheless. Just like some of the best SHOT Show reveals from years past they slapped this together at the last moment and didn’t even know if it would be ready in time.
The overall concept is to create an AK-47 where the end user would have nothing to do. There would be no need to upgrade any of the parts because that would already have been done, and the gun would be ergonomic and visual perfection. For all this, they are planning on bringing it to market for under $1,000 and making it available to the common man.

Re: New AK Alpha from Kashnikov USA
If that is true, this will be a great innovation and a significant move forward for us little guys, not being supported by an army.

Re: New AK Alpha from Kashnikov USA
Can't we let an ak be an ak and this be the future space gun it appears to want to be?

PS I ordered 1....JK o think it looks fragile seriously. That stock looks like one drop and 3 places would be broken.

Anytime I have gotten one with that tactical furniture, I take it off and return it to original.
I recently got an IO made rifle at the gun show. It had the magpul stock which is one that I really like now and may buy one just to keep since they also come in plum color. The dealer next to me whined about it so bad that I sold it to him and he went off and got some of the east german mags. Out of a box of 100 he said he went through, he only found 2 that would fit without filing on the mag. That's pretty tight tolerance to me. Give me the eastern bloc or Chinese made ones
