My thoughts, "why?" Their finish is solid and extremely durable... so why destroy it.

If I remember correctly I have seen a G19 with a polished slide. Not a good look.

If your slides finish is worn have you considered having it cerakoated?? Perhaps a color other than black for a little contrast?? Maybe FDE or tan??

I've seen it done- east to do by just progressing finer sandpaper. Do it, see how you like it, you can always paint it again.

I'm not one for shiny things but I'm sure there are many places online that do it if you don't want to polish yourself.

Word. Disregarding the word "it" changes the sentence.

The tenifer is a very good rust resistant metal finish, there are stainless steel glock slides available, if you want that look without the inevitable rust.

Tenifer is a metal heat treatment , the black color is just factory finish

Polishing Glock slide is easy metal work, does nothing except removes color on it.
The Tenifer is in the metal.

You can do it or have it done. Several places can polish metal to bright.
