What cartridge is LMPD carrying?

Post by AErrorist » Sat Aug 22, 2015 8:16 pm

I was told a few years ago that they carried the 165gr Golden Saber Bonded but I can't find them for sale anywhere anymore. I've always carried them on the assumption that if I had to use and a rogue DA tried to claim I went out an bought some exotic exploding fragmenting HP ammo I could always counter that I just bought the same thing our police department uses.

Just my own 2 cents. If you drew and used you weapon when you were in fear of your life or grevious bodily harm, made sure your rounds hit their intended locations. I am fairly certain that the type of projectile inside said dirtbag would be of less interest. Otherwise we should have a list of approved ammo or weapons with our CCDW training. Personally I use the ammo that seems to shoot the best for me in that weapon. Good question.

Their case is weak as hell and I am not a lawyer but I could get you a not guilty verdict with their basis. The original question I do not know the answer though.

But you got to remember, they're the only ones professional enough
There are criminals among us who are both homicidal and incorrigible. Their parents took a shot at civilizing them and failed. Their school teachers took a shot at them and failed. The odds are overwhelming that government welfare programs and penal institutions took a shot at them and failed. If it ever becomes your turn to take a shot at them, don’t fail.

I seriously doubt you will find it locally. I've never seen it for sale. Give me a second I will try to see if I can at least find you a box for reference.

From what I gather its just the updated version of Hydrashock, They label it as law enforcement or tactical but im guessing thats more of an advertising ploy then anything else. A few years ago Federal announced it was going to update its line , and more specifically the hydra shock. It looks just like the HST when opened up but with the hydra shock bullet profile.

I've found it for sale online. I'm guessing LMPD provides there officers with ammo then?
