Re: KAC
Too late for the contest (been sick the last coupla weeks) but still want in on this EDC action!
My "Winter carry" items:
~ Vintage USMC shooting jacket circa 1975
~ Taurus .357 (Galco holster not shown)
~ LG phone
~ Paracord key lace
~ Card holder / money clip in stainless
~ Button light, pill fob, and 79 cent folding knife
~ No-brand chronograph with paracord for a wrist strap
~ Journal and carpenter's sketch pencil
~ USMC challenge coin
~ Bic lighter
~ Gear ring by Kinekt Design, NYC
I went back to the LG Thrill phone mainly because of the smartly done camera. I use it everyday to promote my art studio. I like the carpenter's pencil for art on the go and because it's flat it won't roll off the restaurant table. The knife is cheap, but basically a box opener and pencil sharpener. I won't cry should I lose it, I bought a case of 50 as backup. The stainless steel Kinekt gear ring was a gift on my tenth anniversary and now serves as my wedding ring, so I'll occasionally clip it onto my key lace for safe keeping when dealing with messy paints or thinners. My service coin usually rides along in the jacket pocket. Don't want to be caught without it! The cotton jacket was a lucky find. Discontinued in the mid-eighties, now it's generally only given out as an honorarium for high scoring shooters in the Corps. So I was surprised when I found a surplus case of un-issued coats from '75!
All together, it's a little bulky for pocket carry, so in the Summer I pare it all down to just pistol, phone, keys, and card clip. The rest stays in the car with my cigar box easel and art supplies.
Great contest, Marcus. Sorry I missed it!

Re: KAC "what do you EDC and why" contest
I like your organizer. I used the zebra pens for years but I moved to using a refillable stainless sharpie pen. It won't bleed through paper yet writes on anything like you'd expect a sharpie to do.
I also quit carrying a wallet and started carrying a "moleskine" notebook. Has a nice pocket that I put my cards and cash in.

Re: KAC
I got the classic notebook. Hard cover. I also got a smaller one that is just a hair bigger than a standard ID or credit card. I may end up going with it. The larger one fits my back pocket perfect but it is a little on the large side. Its flatter than my old wallet though. Got them at Barnes and Noble.

Re: KAC
Maxpedition has a smaller one of those pocket EDC pouches now, that is made to fit in khaki/dress pants pockets. I was selling them on ebay till I got a letter from maxpedition to pull all of their stuff off ebay.......
and I really don't know why I listened to them because there are still a ton of people selling their stuff on there..

Re: KAC
I see the link to my picture is now dead, but the only changes I've made are swapping out the titanium prybar for a more capable 4" straight widgy prybar and adding a Streamlight Microstream.

ssracer wrote:With the exception of my phone (iPhone 4S in a Lifeproof case) which I used to take the pic, this is basically what goes with me every day. Wallet, contact drops, Oakley flack jackets, Paracord bracelet, GShock watch, stream light stylus pro light, SOG Mini Trident assisted opening knife, Wilderness Tactical instructors belt, crossbreed supertuck holster, XDM 9mm 3.8 compact loaded with Winchester ranger JHP and at least one spare full size mag. Sometimes it's two mags so the mag carrier changes depending on that. Other gun options are the XDM 4.5 with TLR-1 in a Spartan-Village kydex holster or a 642 in a pocket holster with a speed loader in another pocket.
This is what works for me and gives me a few options. Work is the only place I go without at the very least having the knife and light in my pocket.

Re: KAC
The Pedometer is now a FitBit. The Fobus OWB holster changed to an Everyday Holsters IWB. The Spyderco is duller because I lack sharpening skill and the belt has been replaced with a much smaller sized one.rustynuts wrote:I know this thread is a year and a half old, remember reading it back then, but I'm curious to see how much everyone's EDC has changed in that time.
Any changes?

Re: KAC
I broke the belt loops on the holster so I am using the old one with no light accomodation for a bit.
I have a Gerber tool on my key chain.
I have an Android phone.
I have a better EDC belt with a cobra buckle.
Pepper Spray.
The flashlight is worn... I have not managed to lose this one permanently.
I got rid of the 3 dot sights on the carry gun.
That's about it

Re: KAC
OH! I almost forgot.
I did not get a monocle, but I did put a Fresnel magnifier lens in the wallet. Comes in handy for more than just making fires when you eyesight starts to go.

Re: KAC "what do you EDC and why" contest
Mine has totally changed. Added a lot to it. Beltman belt, Shield 9mm in a iwb bama holster, Esee folder, half the time a Streamlight stylus, I think it is, and looking for a owb mag carrier I like the design of. 4 keys, (house, work, & trucks). 99% of the time a money clip with cash, drivers license, CCWD, and CC, occasionally a wallet instead.
Re: KAC "what do you EDC and why" contest
Kydex wallet, keys, iPhone, and Shield in my holster.
