Oil Filter Suppressor

Post by JustShootIt » Mon Apr 23, 2012 11:07 am

Just seen this video on youtube and thought I would share.....

This is supposed to be registered and legal.......I haven't done much research so I am making no claims. It is very interesting to say the least...

Looks like the oil filter would get in the way of the open sights, but would work well with scope or red dot.......

Yes it is legal now
I have read/heard that having a restritered can and a bag of steel wool / Choreboy
Can be considered by gobt as having a unrestricted silicener ???
This could be same with adaptor and the oil filter in your car
I do not know it is the govt

The way they say it in the video, the "adapter" is what is registered with the ATF........

or, that's the way I understood it

Yes, the adapter is the "supressor" and would require a $200 tax stamp.

I have heard that there is but have no idea if it is actually true. Guess you could take your AR to auto zone and start opening boxes and trying them out....

Think I'll pass.

I couldn't imagine how long it would be before you were explaining to an officer what you were doing.

Ok, so now as long as a silencer does not directly thread to bbl it is not a silencer?

So i can buy one $75 "adapter" and 5 different cans that have to thread to it and pay one tax stamp?

Just legalize damn suppressors already, this shit is ridiculous

And full auto, that is a stupid law also

this

while i doubt FA will ever be off the NFA list just due to the evil connotations that the anti's have put on them for years, there is no reason for suppressors to be on there. Or SBR's for that matter. What the hell does the length of the barrel have to do with anything? Does that make it more dangerous?

Just to clarify:

Please refer to all local and federal laws in regards to ANY type of supressor....

The "oil filter suppressor"shown in video requires purchasing a tax stamp....

$25 at the gun shows and it can legally be used to adapt an oil filter to the end of your barrel so that when you clean your gun, the oil and residue are trapped in the filter.
For $200, you can make it into a louder version of a cheap ass suppressor.

That is funny

Todd I think you mean 25.00 will get you a gadget to put a empty pop bottle to caught dirty patches.

This use a different thread pattern.
The adaptor is the registered part. Not the oil filter.
