Compound Bows

I am looking to get into bow hunting this year. What are some good brands of compound bows and what accessories are needed to outfit said bow? I will be taking a trip to Cabelas to talk to them about it at some point soon as well. Any and all info is appreciated.

Based on the interwebs i need about a 30 to 31 inch draw length

Best advice is to try a few out. Cabela's can fit you to what you need. There are way too many choices now days just to say brand X is best.
Sometimes The bow will be cheap compared to all the accessories you will need.

Word. I looked at a few quickly at cabelas the other day but it was closing time. Seems most come as a package with sights, balancer, scabbard etc already includes. Probably see if my neighbor wants to come with. He has been bow hunting 30 yrs

Don't forget about Pawn Shops. One here in Mt Washington has several used bows all set up. I have seen Bowtech and Mathews there at times for decent prices.

You must be a big fella, cuz 31” draw is pretty long if you use a d loop and a release. Get your dram lentgh measured at a pro shop, cuz it is critical. It will drive u crazy if long or short. Biggest cause of “unexplainable shooting left or shooting right, that comes and goes away. Too long and you actualy are bringing your elbow behind your head, too short and your elbow is sticking out from your body., both will pluck at the string. I would research the release you want and buy that first, then the bow. Might not be a big deal with the new adjustable bows but if you are going used it could. Some awesome bows out there from 10 = 15 years ago that are priced right. There is a forum called archery talk, check it out. You can learn alot there.
