Just ordered a couple dozen new broadheads. Whether I'll get to use them, or not, is pure speculation.

The real early season teds to be for trophy hunters , the temps are so high that the meat needs to be processed very quickly ad the deer are eat up with flies and ticks. Most die hards I know , use this early season to scout and possibly kill that huge trophy while in the velvet , its common around here for them to wait till around the early muzzle loader to actually take that deer , or till they have actually shed there velvet.
The few I know of that do take deer now , dont eat the meat and just mount the head, so if its not a mount quality deer they dont kill it.

What length draw? The one I picked up last winter is too long for me and can't be adjusted any smaller. It has a 30" draw length, and I'm selling it for what I have in it, $100

Im with ya man, I like being out in the woods even if I just watch the birds. Really your chances to spot and get that huge buck are better now then later. IMO you should set up for some coyote hunting , you can slaughter them right now , even with a bow and the right set up. you still get to watch the deer , just in case that mule walks in to sight, your out in the woods scouting , and you dont have to clean the yote....lol

I've never thought of doing that SOL. I'm trying to find some private land to hunt.. might be a good pitch to get not he land if I work on removing some coyote off the property... I did manage to get out this morning for a few hours on some WMA land just to scout out some game trails... saw two deer, three turkeys, about a dozen squirrel and a snake... underbrush is retarded this right now though! I'm always amazed at how well the deer move through some of that stuff!

Yellow Bank is a great place to deer hunt....especially bow hunt...

It's huge...something like a thousand acres +....free public land...

Most people hunt the outer perimeter and easy access areas. If u hike in a little ways u can get some good spots.

I got several buddies that hunt there every year....couple years ago one bagged a nice buck.

Worth going if your anywhere close.

I miss my bow hunting days,as a matter of fact I miss modern gun and muzzle loader too. Hunting land is hard to come by.

Some of Kentucky's biggest deer have been taken on public land.
