WWSD polymer lowers at a premium price

If you’re unfamiliar, Brownell’s and KE Arms are producing an updated version of the unified polymer lower like the old CAV Arms or GWACS Armory that they used for the “What Would Stoner Do” project rifle. Google it if you’ve got some time to kill.

Anyway, Brownell’s sells the stripped lowers for $109 with free shipping. Add tax and a FFL transfer fee and you’re looking at $140 to buy one.

Or you could go to OPS Supply in Simpsonville and pay $249 plus tax for one. That’s quite a markup. You can buy the fully assembled version from Brownell’s for less than OPS wants for the stripped one.

I have a GWACS that I bought on sale 4-5 years ago for $89 that I completed with a pencil barrel upper. It barely weighs five pounds and is the best handling AR I’ve ever picked up. I’m going to get one of the new versions eventually, but not for $249.
