Sub $500 AR. Ever build one?
Re: Sub $500 AR. Ever build one?
Close, realy close. For a complete chrome lined 16" carbine from PSA. Bought during the Thanksgiving sales. Bought the complete build kit regularly $499 was $459 on sale. Think it was 15 shipping. Then the lower was $59 plus $7 shipping plus $20 transfer.
Best and most solid rifle I have built also.

I traded a CZ 83 (I bought for $145) for a 16" M4 upper with complete bolt and also milspec stock and tube.
Lower for $80 and parts kit for $65 and Magpul rear site for $50 for a total of $340.

Marcus has met him. Nice guy, but he cant own a firearm till July. His neighbor ran over his dog on a go-cart so he went to the neighbors house and shot him in the hand. Had to give all his guns to his family before he went to court a few years ago.

That story intrigues me, you need to fill in the cracks. What kind of dog? Did it die? What happened at court? Did they fight first or did he just walk over and shoot him?

Neighbor was a convicted felon and drunk driving the go-kart. Drove the go-kart thru the other guys property hitting his dog,(it lived, just bruised real bad) and then fleeing back to his house. My buddy ran back, grabbed his 9mm knocked on the guys door and shot him. Appearntly they had issues before this, it was this that pushed him over the edge. But, thats life in Bullitt County, LOL!

I picked up a complete upper from SNL which was formally owned by a "Founding Father - Beastmode" and had a plum crazy on it for a total of $429. Didn't like the plastic lower so changed it out for a metal one so it is over $500 now.

Re: Sub $500 AR. Ever build one?
I'm working on a cheap build that started with one of PSA's $49 Black Friday stripped lowers & LPK. I haven't decided on an upper yet, so the final price is yet to be determined.
This may wind up being my .300 Blackout rifle to be used with the YHM SS Phantom. Sub-sonic .30 caliber goodness! If so, I think the $500 price point will go bye-bye, quickly.

Sub $500 AR. Ever build one?
I have a plum crazy waiting for an upper. I would like a sportical to go on sale for $350 when I have some spare monies but I'm also considering spending more on the upper since the lower was so cheap and building a really slick upper.
If I saw a used upper for $300 I'd jump on it as long as it isn't heavy barrel.

I don't even own an upper that was under $500...
