Glock magazine help...

I'm looking for the lowest capacity mag that will work in an AR lower. I'm sure the 21 will work but will a 30 be long enough to make it past the mag well? I know nothing about Glock, btw.

Well, in my QC10 GSF lower, I can run G26 (sub compact) mags... It's pretty much flush with mag well of the lower. So I would assume that most other AR lower' s that utilize Glock mags would be the same.

What I hear you saying is, you built a 45acp AR? Nice!

I'm seriously wanting to do one in 10mm...

Waiting patiently for the right mix of parts.

I was heavily considering the 10mm, but since I have a couple pistols in 45 and none in 10mm trumped that. I'm not sure how true it is but I've heard the 10 can be finicky.

Just going by pictures and not digging real deep into this yet by googling, it appears the Glock 30 and 36 fit the same frame size gun. The 36 is a 6 round single stack while the 30 holds 10 and should be a double stack?? Once again, I'm a Glock dimwit.

The mags for the 30 and 36 aren't compatible. The 36 is quite a bit narrower than the 30. The frame on the 36 is likewise narrower.

Glock 30 mags are the same as 21 just shorter. You can use 21 mags in a 30. 36 will only fit a 36. I would say yes a 30 mag will work but not a 36.

For anyone who was worried to death about this or maybe just curious, the 30 mag fits with about 3/8" clearance between the magwell and the top of the magazine baseplate. Thanks again for the insight and information.
