Daniel Defense upper on Bushmaster lower
Decided to work in the "Man Cave" today. Picked up the upper yesterday and fixed it up with a Bushmaster lower. Decided to take a shot at Rattle Can paint job.
I tried to take off the old finish with Brake Cleaner, Paint Thinner and Orange Citrus Stripper, but nothing did a real good job so I said heck with it and painted it again. Not going to paint the sites because not sure what I will actually keep on there. Hope to get it to the range soon.
Thanks to DD for the upper..

What did you use to make your pattern?
Also I'm surprised that the krylon proved to be that tough, parts cleaner and elbow grease has always worked pretty well for me in the past.

Re: Daniel Defense upper on Bushmaster lower
I found a box of my wife's craft supplies to use as a pattern. I still want to try some netting pattern, but have to pick some up today.
I put the orange gel on Thursday afternoon and let is sit over night. Then sprayed it off and put a new coat on Friday am. I used a toothbrush and nylon finger nail brush to get old paint off, but the rails still looked like crap and the barrel underneath had spots.

Found some netting so made a few adjustments. Added a light and took off the Aimpoint.
