Post your rifle/carbine weight

Post by justang1997 » Sun Dec 20, 2015 3:43 pm

Finally finished my rock river facelift. The gun is around 3 lbs lighter and at the same time is more ergonomic and more reliable.
It went from almost 12 lbs to 9.4lbs in rock and roll mode. 7.8 lbs without the sling and magazine.
The gun has sling, back up flips, 15 inch rail covered gas block, light, red dot sight, and front grip. Im pretty pleased with the results considering i didnt choose parts with weight as the primary consideration. If i had $500 more i could probably shave another 1.5 lbs off.

6.8 pounds, I think that's without the sling and definitely without ammo.

Both my M4 set ups are under 8 pounds.
Longer ones weigh quite a bit more.

I think my current project is sitting under 6lbs right now but without the buffer and buffer spring.
There are criminals among us who are both homicidal and incorrigible. Their parents took a shot at civilizing them and failed. Their school teachers took a shot at them and failed. The odds are overwhelming that government welfare programs and penal institutions took a shot at them and failed. If it ever becomes your turn to take a shot at them, don’t fail.

Should have included that this was how I "measured" too. I did at least measure with the rifle three times and without three times, thinking I would take the averages, but it gave matching measurements 5/6 times.

Going to go out on a limb and say it's a 16" lightweight profile midlength gas system with a Lantac Dragon and a 15" rail. The only one I'm sure about is the Lantac Dragon.

Or a 14.5" lightweight with carbine length gas.

Well maybe if you guys didn't put 10 feet worth of rails on them they wouldn't weight so much. Just saying.
