My first sub-$500 build!!!

Post by BK Meyers » Sat Jul 18, 2015 4:50 pm

Recently built my first sub-$500 fully functional AR15!!! :)

Used an Anderson lower (on sale locally) and an Anderson lower build kit with their stainless steel trigger and hammer. For an upper I bought a PSA melonite coated Mid-length complete with bcg and ch. Added a Magpul MBUS rear sight that I had scored off of Ebay a year or so ago.

A fully functioning AR15 with sights (front and rear) for a total of $465!!! :)

Told a co-worker about it when he was asking questions about an AR. We duplicated the same set-up (got the rear sight from a member here) and he now has his first AR15. He has already started buying some Magpul mags and looking at some add-ons.

Nothing wrong with that. Down and dirty, yet functional. I need to build my spikes lowers.

I'll admit it and hang my head in shame, I am an internet doofus. :-( I cannot get the pictures to text from my phone to my computer. Phone shows they have been sent but they are not showing up in my e-mail.

Since the build I have added a Magpul MOE handguard (had this before the build), a CAA stock saddle and a "winter" trigger guard. I've got a spare Elzeeta light mount in my parts stash that will be going on as well. Need to find a good light

There goes my "budget" build!!!

Can you post them from your phone? That's what I usually do.

Just sign up for a photobucket account, it's free, and upload them to there.
