Light weight AR rifle

Post by SSGBPowell » Sun May 10, 2015 12:35 pm

New lightweight AR build. It is a Tennessee Arms Polymer lower, Anderson Arms LPG, Lightweight upper, 16 inch pencil profile barrel with m16a1 flash hider (for now) a light weight narrow profile 15 inch key mod rail, UTG Bi-pod and Magpul flip up sights. The stock is a Blackhawk 6 position for now. I want something a little more solid on it in the future.

I wanted the look of a full length rail set-up but in a very light weight package. It is not as fat as a standard quad rail. It is much more comfortable for my smaller hands. The key mod locking system is very solid. I have to pick up a keymod QD sling mount to get a sling rigged and a good scope for it and the time to go shoot it.

Very cool looking build. Do you have a weight on it?

I just weighed it. She is 6 pounds even, without the bi-pod. I could have saved a few ounces by going with a carbon fiber tube but I did not like the look.
