Quality 22 ammo
I would like to get hold of some quality 22. I have a bunch of the bulk stuff but decided it's cheap enough I could afford some of the good stuff. By good, I mean accurate and for range use. I purchased some CCI Mini Mags as I know they have always been good ammo but my 22/45 didn't really care for it. Had several jams out of 100 rounds on a gun that hasn't yet jammed on 500+ rounds of cheap bulk ammo.
Anyone know anything about the 100 packs of Winchester Super X in the red plastic boxes? Any other suggestions?

Re: Quality 22 ammo
Ely target, Aguila, Wolf match
all of these have been the stars of the target guys.
I personally will never tough anything Winchester makes for rimfire again. I have tried 3 different versions and they have all been the same.

Strange the Wolf is always mentioned as quality 22 ammo but it is. Never tried it personally. I shoot almost all subsonic rounds so I'm far from an expert but I've had good luck with the Winchester Super X subs

Any thoughts on this stuff?

Walmart has that for like 13 bucks. I don't need the perfect ammo. Just want something more accurate than the bulk stuff. The happy medium.

Quality 22 ammo
The bulk Federal target ammo (I think it comes in boxes of 325?) shoots 95% as well as Wolf Match or CCI in my experience, and it's a lot cheaper. I don't shoot .22 past 100 yards though.
Edit: I just clicked your link... That's the ammo I was talking about... Haha

Eagerly awaiting the XDS release...

Great news. It's quite affordable. Think I'll try some.Hartlage wrote:The bulk Federal target ammo (I think it comes in boxes of 325?) shoots 95% as well as Wolf Match or CCI in my experience, and it's a lot cheaper. I don't shoot .22 past 100 yards though.

Re: Quality 22 ammo
I just bought a case of that Aguila hyper velocity something or other from BigC yesterday. Advertised 1750fps and supposed to be better than the MiniMags I've been using. Looks like next weekend I'll get to try it out and see how well it does in several firearms. If you remind me, I'll tell ya all about how it does.
