Ok please explain how a steel case subject to chamber pressure of firing would allow gas to flow back and cause carbon build up
When the polymer coating is made up of carbon based material.

Steel case /carbon build up

Post by ssracer » Thu Sep 25, 2014 3:04 pm

While I have always heard you should not mix brass and steel when shooting, I have shot hundreds of rounds of wolf and then some brass and then more wolf and never had this issue. I can't imagine this should ever be a problem after only 80 rounds of steel cased wolf unless something is out of spec on that rifle/chamber

All I want to know is where he's finding it for 16 cents a round! :P

I bought some of the first WOLF ammo (223) to ever hit the shelves about 14 years ago. After shooting 1 mag of that shit I swore I never buy any more. The lacquer was all over the internals, everything was gummed up and I was lucky to get 5 rounds in a row to fire. I still have a box of 20 rounds laying around somewhere with a price tag of $3.99 on it.
I'd rather pay more and shoot brass.

They switched to polymer a long time ago. Been shooting steel in my ARs and others and never have had an issue with it. I keep the brass tucked away for a rainy day.
There are criminals among us who are both homicidal and incorrigible. Their parents took a shot at civilizing them and failed. Their school teachers took a shot at them and failed. The odds are overwhelming that government welfare programs and penal institutions took a shot at them and failed. If it ever becomes your turn to take a shot at them, don’t fail.

Same here...never an issue with the polymer stuff...and I have shot thousands of rounds of it...over 1000 between cleanings.

Come on Todd , it is not the laquer but the steel case let's carbon build up in chamber.
What is wrong with you ! A expert on AR15 said so.

And the FB experts agree.

Brass is flexible steel is not. It has to do with the Flux capacitor theory.
