Looking for 9mm defensive ammo

Post by justang1997 » Tue Nov 26, 2013 10:06 pm

If anyone has extra or has seen the following ammo for sale at any local stores I'm looking for it.

PDX1 147gr and 124+p
Critical Duty 135+p ( I have plenty of the non +p 135)
Speer gold dot 124+p

Thanks

Shooters usually has a pretty good supply of defensive ammo with a box or two limit without a gun purchase

Shooters has some Remington but not Golden Sabres. Forgot what it was. Also Corbon, Hydro Shocks and some Hornady that wasn't Critical Defense. Looked like it but was all silver package. Didn;'t have my glasses on.. Could be the stuff you needed. This was at 4:30 today.

I'm filling 18 and 20 round mags so it's gonna take about 80 rounds. I'd like a few extra to shoot so an even 100 would be nice.

If defense ammo is in short supply and hard to come by, consider dutch loading your magazines, every other round being FMJ hardball. This gives you a penetrator and a potential man-stopper in each double tap, stretching your defense ammo supply & budget. It also means that at least half of your rounds will penetrate that windshield or car door, turning cover into concealment and possibly tilting the odds more in your favor.

Just a thought.

I do appreciate the offer. I'm trying to stick with bonded bullets though.

That's a pretty good suggestion. I used to carry fmj hard ball in my spare mag. I figured if a gun fight went to the second mag they would be under cover by then and fmj would be better. I didn't like the idea of mixing in the first mag due to over penitration.
That's why I stick with the bonded ammo now and preferably +P and always 4 inches or longer barrels.

Found some gold dots at knob creek. (blah). They say 124gr +p short barrel. Wonder if they are less hot than regular +p or if it's just faster powder burn.
