My wax slugs attempt

Post by justang1997 » Wed Feb 27, 2013 12:23 pm

Went out and shot these last weekend. It was a "blast" :llama:

But seriously it was fun. The gun didn't blow up. I mainly shot phonebooks and an orange traffic cone. Really high tech redneck range time.
The plain jane birdshot appeared to be more devastating to single phone books at 10 yards than the wax slugs. However when I stacked 4 phone books together the birdshot only made it to the 3rd and the wax slugs went through all 4 AND the traffic cone. They busted into large chunks and had more mass to penetrate deeper.
I'd say the edge goes to the wax slugs at 15+ yards but closer than 10 you may as well just use birdshot.
Oh and the 100% pellet loads were nasty.
