local Cerakote facility???

I'm thinking of having the slide on a Ruger SR1911 Cerakoted in gloss black.

Ruger put out a Lipsey edition SR1911 (#6700C) that had a gloss black cerakoted slide and black Ruger grips. I did not learn about this pistol until it was too late and now cannot locate one, so I'm thinking of having an existing SR1911 modified to "copy" the Lipsey model.

Are there any local facilities/businesses that offer cerakoting for firearms??

Thanks,
BK

I would check the sponsor's forum and take your pick.

I do believe that all the gun smith shops in Metro save one offer Cerakote

Cranky does an excellent job with Cerakote and his rates are pretty damned reasonable. He has done several pieces for me and they all turned out perfectly.

Kodiakkoating I think its called in shelbyville has an excellent reputation from what I understand
and
Kentucky Gun Coatings does a great job, have seen a lot of their stuff at some shows but they seem to take a little while.

Thats the two I would end up using.

That's the one. As someone mentioned, they aren't real quick but it's usually a week or so on whatever I drop off.

Called them today. Was told approx. 1 week to do a slide, which I thought was pretty good. Planning to check it out soon.

It took them a week to do my entire shield. Not too shabby.
