local Cerakote facility???

Post by BK Meyers » Tue Jan 20, 2015 7:25 pm

I'm thinking of having the slide on a Ruger SR1911 Cerakoted in gloss black.

Ruger put out a Lipsey edition SR1911 (#6700C) that had a gloss black cerakoted slide and black Ruger grips. I did not learn about this pistol until it was too late and now cannot locate one, so I'm thinking of having an existing SR1911 modified to "copy" the Lipsey model.

Are there any local facilities/businesses that offer cerakoting for firearms??

Thanks,
BK

Cranky does an excellent job with Cerakote and his rates are pretty damned reasonable. He has done several pieces for me and they all turned out perfectly.

and
Kentucky Gun Coatings does a great job, have seen a lot of their stuff at some shows but they seem to take a little while.

Called them today. Was told approx. 1 week to do a slide, which I thought was pretty good. Planning to check it out soon.

It took them a week to do my entire shield. Not too shabby.
