Re: Mauser ID?
Looks like a Turkish model
And that work is not bubba,
Seems it looks like something I worked on.

Re: Mauser ID?
It was done by Mr Kerkindile(?) on 44 between Shepherdsville and Knob Creek. 1985ish is when I got it. He did the work in ruffly 1984-1985. I can remember watching him do some of it. He was a friend of my grandfathers.

That's what I think as well. If I seen a full view of buttstock could get a better idea as well.guncrank1 wrote:Looks like a Turkish model

You can get a 308 barrel for around $100+ and make it a really decent target/deer rifle.Niceguy wrote:I guess demilitarizing it is more appropriate for it.

Funny the bolt looks like a forged one I would do.Niceguy wrote:It was done by Mr Kerkindile(?) on 44 between Shepherdsville and Knob Creek. 1985ish is when I got it. He did the work in ruffly 1984-1985. I can remember watching him do some of it. He was a friend of my grandfathers.
I did the same thing during that time frame.

Re: Mauser ID?
Pretty sure I'm going to have it rebarreled in 7mm Mauser and some other work done to it because I have a more original shape 7mm that I'll never get rid of. Both guns from my grandfather.

Re: Mauser ID?
He was old when he was doing this work. I'm guessing he passed years ago. Can't remember his first name, never called him by it. My dad or grandfather would have probably knocked my teeth out if I ever had...haha
