New etown gun range

Post by justang1997 » Fri Jan 27, 2017 4:16 am

Went to Central KY Gun Club range today. Nice new indoor range with 25 yard rifle and pistol range. Reminds me of Open Range in Crestwood. Still under construction but the range is open and the gun store has a large selection of guns. They are apparently building a "tactical bay" which should allow room to do indoor idpa uspsa type stuff.

$12 for 30 minutes and $17 for an hour.

No reloads ;-) and they don't allow you to collect your own brass :-(

Its on 31W just past the jail.

I've been looking forward to this opening. I've delivered there while they were putting the building up. Planning to go by there this wknd. They are open on Sundays also!!! Will be pretty cool having an indoor range within 10 minutes of my house.

I only have a few mags of factory ammo. That's it.

What was their reasoning behind not letting you police your brass? If it's the you might pick up somebody else's, that's lame.

Probably a safety standpoint. Someone may be bent over down range and not noticed when range goes hot, or spends too much time between hot times collecting brass.

Just means someone local needs to get to know the owners and collect all the brass.

I've shot at the indoor range at Ky. Gun Co. in Bardstown. They simply sweep the brass forward into the "range area", out from under foot and out of the stalls. Not sure if they will let you collect brass either. Haven't tried as I don't reload. I can see where it may be a safety issue and/or distraction issue for other shooters.
