Walther PPQ

Post by SpookyPistolero » Fri Apr 20, 2012 4:35 pm

Just got back from my first range trip with my new-to-me PPQ. It only had a couple hundred rounds though it before it got to me, and I ran 300 through it this afternoon.

All in all, the ppq was *awesome* . It ate a large variety of ammo without a hint of a problem, and I got it pretty hot. The trigger proved itself to be better for me than probably any pistol I've owned or shot. It has a crsip break, little over travel, and a strong reset. A full, smooth roll of the trigger is very easy with this gun. The grip and ergonomics were fantastic, though a very slight increase in muzzle flip was noticed vs my g19 (closest gun in size vs ppq). While the sights provide a so-so sight picture, they are certainly light years better than factory Glock sights. Accuracy overall was really impressive, and was almost able to make even me look good.

I was using the 'large' grip insert, and never even thought to try the medium since it felt pretty good. I dint expect I'll change at this point. I've got some kydex on the way, so I expect to make this my carry gun.

If you're in the fence about this pistol, do yourself a favor and just pull the trigger. Its really an impressive gun at a good price point. Pics when I find my camera. ..
You better call Kenny Loggins. Cause you're in the danger zone.

I love mine. I dare say it is more ergonomic than my CZ-75, and I thought that was made for my hand. I had no problem with the mag release, and actually think I like it better than the traditional mag release. I use my middle finger of my shooting hand to activate the release, and don't have to shift my grip in the least.

Mine seems to like the 124gr +p the best out of everything I've fed it so far.

I need to get an IWB for mine, but not yet sure what I want. Any suggestions?

"gripnCOLDSTEEL". I just stumbled upon him in the classifieds. Selected based on good feedback and fact that he was willing to order any blue gun that he didn't have in stock already (and no one seems to have a ppq mold).

Know him?

Don't think I do. Have to take a look at his holsters, though.

Anxious to see how the holster turns out for you.
