Recoil's got it... the R is 'reduced' ... one less baffle ... 6 instead of 5...
I got an email answer back from HA and confirmed that... also said they may be phasing the R out, but it still has the upgrade path the Guardians have meaning you can upgrade to SS internals... pretty much making it a Kestrel ...
I will keep it on the list just incase anyone favors it over the 6" can...

So now just to find out if the guardian listed is new model or old model

They are both the 'new and improved' model ... I was just speculating on the possibility of the 6" model being the older generation when I didn't have the facts in front of me..., but it didn't make any sense that they would be the same price ... I imagine they have cleared their inventories out of the 1st generations...
So there are still the 3 to choose from ... I will edit the first post to give a little more detail to them...

there's a reference in the FAQ section on Huntertownarms.com ... but it just alludes to the fact that they don't publish their db reduction numbers (just like a whole lot of suppressor manufacturers) ... I think they guide you to a third party link...
I believe I saw one of their suppressors had it listed, but it was from a third party testing group...
I can tell you from experience with the older guardian, that all you will hear is the action of your gun opening and closing and the bullet hitting the target... At least with a rifle, that's the case...

Edit:
Just checked the website and the Guardian 22 XL publishes 114 db reduction (according to NFATalk) ... Now that's quiet...

the new guardian is supposed to be 6db quieter than old through independent testing

So would the money for the suppressor be due when u place the order or when we are actually going in to do paperwork? $120 at time of order or $320 at paperwork time?

$200 goes to the BATFE with your prints and paperwork at the beginning.

$320.00 due at pickup... I don't want to or have any way to manage the money beforehand...

Edit: that will be 120 to the FFL and 200 will be going to ATF ... one way or another... I am looking into getting set up for efile and if I understand the process, you will pay for the stamp online when you efile...

You need the serial # of suppressor on application for tax stamp. Won't know ser. # until suppressor is at dealer.

Cool. Just wondering if money for the actual suppressor ($120) was being collected prior to paperwork. I know the $200 will be at time of paperwork. Question answered :)

Pickup is not until stamp is received, which could be 3-12 months.

Bad choice of words on my part...
Money will be due when suppressors are received at the FFL ... not before...
Then the wait begins ...
Actual pickup will definitely be when stamp arrives...
Thanx Swede for pointing that out...

Let me get the timeline correct. We pay $120 for the can by 04/01. When will the FFL have the cans in so we can pay the $200 and start the waiting game ?

No. He puts the order in on 4/1. When they arrive at ffl we pay the whole amount -$320.

$200 has to go directly to the BATFE for the stamp
