Hello everyone and Happy New Year! Revere's Riders is kicking off 2016 with a Basic Rifle clinic on Saturday Jan. 16th at Buds gun shop in Lexington. We still have some openings for this one-day, indoor event. Sign up with a family member or buddy for the Friends & Family discount ($45). The clinic will start at 0800 in the parking lot at Buds for check in and safety briefing, in order to hit the ground running when the range opens at 0900. We will be finished around 1730. Buds has graciously reduced the range fee to $25 per person for the entire day. Here is the direct link to the info and ticket sales page: https://www.picatic.com/BudsGunShopKYJan2016

You may shoot rimfire or centerfire up to .30 cal., although I would recomend saving some $ and going with rimfire for most of the day. Bring that new AR you got for Christmas and get a good battlesight zero on it before the day is over.

I will give any KAC member a 25% discount on the ticket cost (does not include Buds range fee). Simply email me at the address below and I will send you the Picatic discount code.

Revere's Riders is a 501(c)3 non-profit, all-volunteer nationwide organization whose purpose is to educate the public in American history, support the shooting sports, and promote civic engagement. Revere's Riders is affiliated with the National Rifle Association, Civilian Marksmanship Program, and the Youth Shooting Sports Alliance.

Is this a re-branding of Appleseed or a spinoff? A web search didn't tell me much, other than many Appleseed instructors are now are Revere's Riders instructors.

In any case, anyone who hasn't done one of the shoots owes it to themselves to do so. You're guaranteed to learn something.

I won't go into all the details, but yes, pretty much the entire Kentucky and Indiana Appleseed instructor cadre is now with Revere's Riders. Appleseed is still going, but we will have more events in Kentucky and Indiana than they will, with our own local instructors. Appleseed will have to import folks from other states. Revere's Riders will also be rolling out a pistol program this year, and we will have greater variety in offerings.

The ky@reveresriders.org bounced? Try unbridledliberty@yahoo.com. There has been a change in the start and end times. Buds wants shooters to arrive at 0700, and you will finish by 1630.

richief, the way an event happens is that someone interested in bringing us in to their area goes to their local fish & game or rod & gun club (or even private landowner) and works to get us on the schedule for that club. We would be happy to come to eastern KY, but we need a local boots on the ground to make it happen. You can be that person if you want. ;) Just let me know.

Nice meeting you veggieboy!

You can find our schedule at http://www.hitscount.org under "Take Action". At this time, the next event(s) are April 16-17. There will be one clinic at Boyle County Fish & Game Club near Danville, and another at Tricounty Fish & Game Club near Madisonville. I am also trying to find a host range for a possible March clinic.

I can't believe I missed this post. I stopped into True Value to get some parts and saw the flyer for the one near Madisonville. The wife, daughter, and I attended one in Evansville a few years back. Temperatures were in twenties with sleet and freezing rain. I missed marksmanship by about 10 points, but just couldn't steady my hands any better in that cold. My son and I are definitely going to attend this time, especially since it's right around the corner. Anyone else going?

We are 5 weeks out and the shoot near Danville only has 4 people signed up, and the one near Madisonville has 0 sign ups. Buying your tickets ahead of time is a big help to us for planning purposes. Thanks.

We are just 3 weeks out from our Patriot's Day weekend clinics near Danville and Madisonville. The Madisonville shoot has 0 tickets sold and is in danger of being cancelled. We can't make attendance estimates based on people saying they will come, we can only be sure of head counts based on ticket sales. The Danville shoot only has 4 tickets sold but I will not cancel it. Buy your tickets at:
