Take the Rifleman's Challenge:

No bipods, no rests. Just you and an ordinary rifle and ordinary ammo. Easy, right? Can you do it?

Re: Take the Rifleman's Challenge...
Meh....do it either way then...
Tell ya what let's make this a KAC challenge and post your targets here (video would be better)
First person to post a successful video of them completing this challenge will win 100 rds of Blazer 22 ammo!

Wish I could shoot in my backyard!
I'd do it now before it gets too dark.

Damn it! Printer has been broke forever and I've been to cheap to buy one... Have gun, have ammo, have yard, have no official target!

Re: Take the Rifleman's Challenge...
NOTE: Videos dont have to be fancy....just a quick unedited video of you shooting at the target available in OP. That will also act as your stopwatch so we can see it was completed within 60 seconds.

I believe it is a 1" circle.

Re: Take the Rifleman's Challenge...
Anyone know for sure? If it's 1" and a homemade target is okay, with proof from a tape measure, ruler or whatever is good I'll give this a shot tomorrow after I get home from work... If not, still would like to know for sure and will try it for myself just for fun.

Re: Take the Rifleman's Challenge...
A 100% hit rate for 10 shots in 60 seconds on a 1" target at 25 yards is no joke. Anybody who can grab their rifle and do this cold has my respect.
I know I can do it from a prone supported position...but unsupported? I think this would take a few attempts.
And by "a few" I mean...several.

I have been practicing. We shall see if I can get it on the first try.

Re: Take the Rifleman's Challenge...
This thread right here illustrates why this is the best forum of its kind I have ever seen. You guys are actually doing something, actually taking up the challenge. Outstanding! And offering prizes no less! On another forum, my post was met with some derision and mocking. "Too easy" most said. "A real man can do this standing" said another. And they probably won't even try it.
By all means, post up your pictures here, but if you would, please also post them on the Rifleman's Challenge Facebook wall. And I will offer this; bring an official challenge target that you have shot to an Appleseed clinic I am working, show it to me and tell me your KAC name, and I will give you an RWVA sticker. It doesn't have to have all 10 inside the circle, just bring your best target.
Thanks guys!

Everyday life keeps getting in the way of me doing this. I need a range in my backyard... just need to bulldoze the neighbors house and make a berm.

Take the Rifleman's Challenge...
It has it's draw backs too. Getting stuff done that needs to be done when you don't live 5 min from everything takes up time too. With a few errons I've had, I haven't made it home before dark the last couple days. I still wouldn't ever trade this back yard for a neighborhood...hahaChopperDoc wrote:Unbridled Liberty wrote:This thread right here illustrates why this is the best forum of its kind I have ever seen. Re: Take the Rifleman's Challenge...
I didn't shoot this today, but I did it preparing for the Appleseed I attended last summer:
If that were a 1" circle I'd be in...but it's 1-1/2".
Any bonus points for shooting from 25 meters instead of yards...and for using the sling wrong?
(Edited to add: I wear bifocals, there was a gentle breeze, I think I might have been coming down with a cold, the mold spore count was high, it was hot...)
Just to rub it in, CD...it was shot in my back yard.

I am going to shoot in my backyard just to spite you!
I might need bail money...
Good shootin'
