Stephen, why don't you give us an intro? What country do you happen to live in? How much does weapons-universe pay you for one forum post?

All in a day's work, Sir. I just want to make sure everyone goes home safe tonight.

My quest for a CC pistol.
I bought a new G27 and tried carrying it and I could have hid a brick easier I think. Wound up with a P3AT and have carried it in a wallet holster for years. Went to the gun shop after not going for about 4 yrs and got the fever again. I traded the same as new G27 for a new Sig P250 compact in 9mm. I then ordered a sub compact 40 S&W x change kit for the new P250. Still I wasn't happy until I bought a new P238 which hasn't got here yet. I have a P229 with 357 and 40 barrels and I really like it. Just one trip and I lost my mind again after being gun dormant for a few years. Now I have the P938 on the brain and will most likely have one soon.

Re: My quest for a CC pistol.
thinking of getting another j frame. i miss that 642 i had. it was not a fun range gun, but for ccdw it was GTG for pocket carry. really thinking of getting myself and my wife the Taurus 856 revolvers. 6 shots in a j frame sized pistol.ssracer wrote:i have that too....just not my main carryFrailer wrote:The answer is still J frame.

The women & shoes analogy still fitsCoach wrote:Update: since November still carrying the LCP. It goes with any outfit/ pants and after shooting with it for 6 months ive gotten used to it. While I cannot carry at work, it makes a great carry piece at all other times. Cartridge is small but still no one has stepped up to be pegged with one.Coach wrote:Since November still rocking the LCP. Haven't found a 9 yet I want to carry, and haven't hooked up with chopper to shoot the PPS.
ETA: I still don't like 380, even reloading it, I still don't like shooting it.
There are criminals among us who are both homicidal and incorrigible. Their parents took a shot at civilizing them and failed. Their school teachers took a shot at them and failed. The odds are overwhelming that government welfare programs and penal institutions took a shot at them and failed. If it ever becomes your turn to take a shot at them, don’t fail.

LCP is a pocket cannon -- why I have one on right now--maybe not a full size cannon but close

Re: My quest for a CC pistol.
Only problem I ever had with mine is it won't shoot the Hornady critical defense--jams up every 2 or3 rounds--went to Remington and no issues

Re: My quest for a CC pistol.
IMHO, you should never have to "modify" any firearm that you trust to protect your life with. If it doesnt fire the ammo I put in it, its gone.
I only carry something that I know for sure will feed and shoot reliably when I need it to.
The fluff and buff worked on a couple pistols I owned, but I never felt that these guns should be what I trust my life to.

Re: My quest for a CC pistol.
Mine shoots it just fine but it probably has a lot of rounds through it. Is a 2008 model. ( Has been sent back and retrofit after the reecall ).Nolan wrote:Only problem I ever had with mine is it won't shoot the Hornady critical defense--jams up every 2 or3 rounds--went to Remington and no issues

Re: My quest for a CC pistol.
I am really liking the Kahr CM9 it is light, fits right in my pocket no issues. the trigger is long but smooth and has a nice stopping point just before it goes bang so target shooting it shoots just like any other gun.

Re: My quest for a CC pistol.
Have you looked into a Boberg XR-9? I know they were working out some QC and supplier issues around this time last year, not sure how reliable they've been since then.
Eagerly awaiting the XDS release...
