Renewal of CCDW

Post by Smithengineered » Thu Dec 24, 2015 3:38 pm

I just learned that my CC expired last month. I forgot to update my address and my renewal form went to the old house. Is there a way to renew online or do I just need to go into the Sheriffs office to renew in Jefferson County?

Yes you can renew your permit only and you should also be able to update your information as well.

Unfortunately you won't be able to conceal carry until you have the new permit in hand.
There are criminals among us who are both homicidal and incorrigible. Their parents took a shot at civilizing them and failed. Their school teachers took a shot at them and failed. The odds are overwhelming that government welfare programs and penal institutions took a shot at them and failed. If it ever becomes your turn to take a shot at them, don’t fail.

Yeah thankfully I purchased another gun today and found out that it expired. I quickly pulled my shirt back behind my firearm.

Got a reply today saying that I will need to pay $20 when I pick up my new license. Does anyone know what kind of payment they require? I thought it was something like check or MO only or am I dreaming that?

They definitely accept a check because that's how I paid last month.

Every sheriff's office is gonna be different, but I have never seen one refuse a personal check or cash. many do not take CC though.

I received this in a email. Will the Sheriff's office call me when my license is ready or should I assume that I should pick it up on or after the date listed?

You could try calling to ask, but my sheriff's office does not notify by phone.

They should mail you a letter

FWIW I didn't get a letter from my sheriff's office when they received my renewed permit.

The only notification I received was the e-mail from the KSP stating when my permit would be there.

I would, however call the sheriff to confirm it's there before I went to get it. In fact, I had to do some detective work to find mine, as they sent it to the wrong county. Seriously.

Maybe it's different with the electronic renewals then.

The letter comes from KSP. Nelson Co doesn't notify when they come in. Usually, the cards are there by the time the letter from KSP shows up.

I got my renewal notice in the mail today. License expires in May. I renewed online, made $50 payment at 1:32 pm. At 3:03 I received an email saying my new license had been issued and should be at the sheriff's office on 1/22. Only 91 minutes from paying to approved. Wow
