I use Raven Concealment clones (kydex) for semi-autos. My J-frames ride in a Don Hume JIT.

Gun in specific is a M&P Shield. Although I have a 6rd Rossi .357 snubby I've been pocket carrying that I wouldn't mind a good owb holster for also...

Carrying a pistol shouldn't be comfortable. It should be comforting.

That said, almost every owb option I've tried is as uncomfortable as the iwb options. As a gentleman of generous girth, I always feel like my pistol is just dangling out there. I'm much more "comfortable" with the slight discomfort of iwb.

But, if pushed, I have two custom made holsters, one in kydex and one in leather that place a pistol exactly where I want it. Those are the most comfortable to me. And I realize that doesn't really help you at all.lol

That's the way I feel. I feel like my pants are hanging off my ass when carrying. Maybe I need suspenders...haha

I've heard that a lot, but the two aren't mutually exclusive.

True. I think that is somewhat dependent on how fast you want to access it.

i'm built like an upside down pear, and use a raven for when I need to (pistol drills/idpa, etc.), or want to owb carry. I have a good thick belt (crossbreed) and so I dont have to tighten my belt till it's painfull, to keep my pants up, I use Hickman suspenders with the belt loop ends, best Suspenders I ever used.

I'm shaped much like Marcus, but almost a foot taller. I carry my P938 (now, with threaded barrel goodness!) either in my AlienGear IWB (@ 2 o'clock) or in my rear pocket in a Nemesis pocket holster with the hard cover so it doesn't print through the pocket. Of the 2, the most comfortable is the Nemesis in my right rear pocket, but the faster draw comes from the AG IWB. I always carry a dual magazine pouch with a spare folding knife in it, too, on my weak side, regardless of which holster I'm using. It helps balance the load on my belt, and gives me 22 rds of single stack carry ammo.

I'm working on wearing in the pocket holster to speed up & simplify the draw. The SIG laser has caused a bit of binding that I'm cleaning up to improve the draw further, the draw was perfect w/o the laser, but the old Nemesis wouldn't fit the pistol w/the trigger guard laser attached, so I had to get a new one that needs some work to get just right.

It's always something.....

I know this is an old thread but I just started carrying my Shield in my DeSantis thumb break again. After about a week, I've gotten really used to it. It prints a bit more than an IWB, but not too badly if worn at 30 degrees. I haven't yet found an IWB that I really like.

I carry my XDS in a Sabre Dynamics kydex. Close to the body and very secure retention. Planning on ordering a Bravo Concealment kydex for my XDM

Covers easily with a longish tshirt. Got their double mag pouch on the other side. Both were about $100 all together

So far the closest to the body that I have played with is a kydex holster from RE Factor. They only make them for Glock 19s and 17s though.
