Guntucky -- Laugh or cry?

Doesn't fit in the other categories? Maybe just want to post up some humor or random happening? This is the place for it.

Guntucky -- Laugh or cry?

Post by Napoleon » Sun Apr 07, 2013 9:44 pm

New series starting April 21 on CMT about guns in Kentucky. The web site is: http://www.cmt.com/show/guntucky/series.jhtml

I'm afraid that it's going to be more hillbilly/hicksville than I would like to see. On the other hand, the cast is the ownership of the Knob Creek Gun Range near West Point -- a place that many of us admire. Looks like most of the episodes will be filmed there too.

Being the optimist, I'll probably catch the first episode or two & see how it goes. Hope it isn't too similar to Orange County Choppers (which, for me, got real boring, real stupid, real quick).

I don't know many who 'admire' KCR or its staff. This has also already been posted. I think it was Cranky that posted it.

How about adding puke to the choices

There are criminals among us who are both homicidal and incorrigible. Their parents took a shot at civilizing them and failed. Their school teachers took a shot at them and failed. The odds are overwhelming that government welfare programs and penal institutions took a shot at them and failed. If it ever becomes your turn to take a shot at them, don’t fail.

I have no urge to watch this, nor do I admire any of the staff at KCR. Unless there is some kind of firearms miracle, this show will only make the firearms owners of Kentucky look like a bunch of dumb crazy rednecks.

I can tell you that Kenny Sumners is not a dumb redneck.

How the show is I would guess that yeah KGR will look like a bunch of rednecks.
But it is on CMT which is a redneck station. :llama:

The script for these type of shows contain only one sentence made up of only two words "Act stupid"
One of the big reasons I give up on TV long time ago.

I've known Kenny for at least 10yrs, probably closer to 15yrs. I never said he wasn't a good guy, nor did I say he himself was a dumb redneck.

I'll reiterate, the "staff" does not impress me and the "show" will cast a poor light on Kentucky gun owners.

Well, no news there then

Kidding of course! Luckily I only know the people starring in it as a bunch of good people. But, I only see and talk to them for 2 weeks in a year when I'm working the subgun nationals and visiting the machine gun shoot. Too bad I can't receive CMT on this side of the pond but I'll definetely make the effort of trying to watch the episodes one way or the other ;)

The "staff" Kenny has hired over the years has left a lot to be desired. He has some real turds on his staff. The range detail he has needs some refresher training on how not to be a douche. With some of the crowd that place draws from the city i understand the rules, but the attitudes don't make me wanna spend much time there.

One thing you can count on, the script will supercede their true personalities anyway.

Not bad, but seems par for the course as far as gun shows are concerned. The lure for me is that it is somewhere that I know.

It's made out to be a TV show and be funny. The directors come up with all the bullshit ideas

You have to remember that point, this is not their real personalities. This is what the directors want them to be.
