A heads up for those with dogs

Mysterious and fatal dog respiratory illness now reported in 14 states: See the map.

There are criminals among us who are both homicidal and incorrigible. Their parents took a shot at civilizing them and failed. Their school teachers took a shot at them and failed. The odds are overwhelming that government welfare programs and penal institutions took a shot at them and failed. If it ever becomes your turn to take a shot at them, don’t fail.

We are adopting a puppy Friday. Hope my wife can't be a carrier. She works with other dogs at a veterinarians office all day.

Change clothes, shoes & sanitize before entering house. It's the standard protocol for shows as well.

I got the chance back when I lived in Indiana to tour a big hog farm.
The nursery was setup so you had to strip down and shower. Then wear there provided coveralls while inside.
When you're done you do it backwards. Lose the coveralls, shower and then get your cloths back on.
Sanitation was everywhere in that building. Everything was steam cleaned often.

Standard procedure. One stray microbe and you can loose millions. Back 8 months ago when our puppies were born, we cut ourselves off from anywhere or anyone with dogs. We kept a tray for shoes and bleach solution - no outside shoes in the house!
