Auction in Metcalfe county
Large farm had auction over two weekends. I never realized how “Shady” these things could be. Auction team had several bidders in the mix. Auctioneer would fly through certain things and be quick to say Sold when it was an item they wanted. I heard they have a shop maybe in Hart county. They said things were tested but heard of a few things that were busted. Roughly 60-70 people there. The auctioneer got some really good buys with his quick Sold to buddies.

Yep, Turley has their office down from my property.
They are a shady group and they do have stooges that place bids only to drive your bid up.
Last auction I went to from them was a year ago and they sold firearms above MSRP.

Re: Auction in Metcalfe county
I get this kind of thing happens all the time, but these guys were pretty obvious about it. Two weekends ago they bought so much stuff they filled up at least one gooseneck trailer. You could hear them say "Put that in my pile" after a bid. I also saw them bidding up folks and a few time people said "Who am I bidding against?" and then stopped when they saw it was the auctioneer. Someone told me the seller was paying the buyer premium so if true they were being paid on stuff they won. It all seemed super shady to me.
